Did you know that South Africa is facing a crisis when it comes to children dropping out of school? Do you know why? There are many reasons … which our After School Activities Program (ASAP) can help to address.
When a child is enthusiastic about something they enjoy at school they are encouraged to try harder to study and aim for a meaningful career. ASAP help to develop children in a highly effective way by improving these skills
- physical
- kinesthetic,
- artistic
- drama & theatre,
- mental d and thinking skills,
- personal
- intra-personal, social and interpersonal development
Lunchbox Theatre provide free classes to 264 children. We currently have 6 accomplished Facilitators at 5 schools on 4 afternoons every week. They teach the children dancing (ballroom, contemporary, hip hop and gumboot), drama and art.
Would you like to help us to increase this to 300 children per year by sponsoring a child or two at a very reasonable rate?
What’s in it for you? Here is one good reason to invest in our youth.
According to a report by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) the world economy is changing, and knowledge and skills have become the global currency, the key to better jobs and better lives. We cannot inherit this currency. We can only develop it through sustained effort and investment in our Youth.
South Africa shows good potential, ranking highly in potential GDP increase if all Learners achieved a basic level of education. We have the second-most potential globally, and the country’s GDP would increase by 2,624% if education levels were increased over the lifetime of the pupils. Our aim is to make them love learning through fun life skills in the creative arts.
